Park Keepers Are Back!
September 07
Park Keepers.
Before the nineties "Parkies" were seen around all playgrounds and there was far less trouble from young people. The Park Keepers always had a friendly smile and children back then and parents too, felt safe seeing them on their walkabout in the parks, and many riding bikes too.
Now in Kent, England, the Park Keepers are back with a new bid to tackle anti-social behaviour. In Kent the Parkies are now back in the playground and sporting police-style "head cams". The new rangers wear a much more practical uniform in blue trousers and polo shirts which are far better than the dark suits and hats worn back in the old days.
Come on Blackpool, England, it is time to jump on the bandwagon and take a leaf out of Kent's book. Show these kids that you really care and actions speak louder than words. It is a known fact that someone in uniform deters a lot of anti-social behaviour especially when confronted with a smile and a chat.

Pictures Of The Park Before The Refurbishment.
Here is the large playing field situated next to the childrens park area. Many use this for football games, but could be used to hold activities for the younger children too. One suggestion would be judging pet competitions. This park has a vast potential and will keep the children of this community well busy and off our streets too.
These few photos that I will be showing are before any work on the park begins. It is a huge size and many activities can be good for the children. I will list some in my next entry here in this Blog.
